Besame Cosmetics, You had me at Red Velvet Lipstick

Besame Cosmetics

A Hidden Gem in Burbank's Magnolia Park!

Gabriela Hernandez, CEO and owner of Besame Cosmetics had me at Red Velvet Lipstick! Being a lover all of things vintage from a young age, walking into Besame Cosmetics Boutique was like finding a little piece of heaven on earth! Beautiful romantic vintage inspired boutique counter tops, accented with gold make-up compacts, & pin-up inspired ads. Yes, I'll take all of it please!

I kept asking myself, why in the world have I not been here before? All it took was attending the LifeStyle Bloggers National Conference V.I.P Kick-Off Reception hosted at Besame Cosmetics! Ana Lydia Monaco, Founder of #LALLBlog14 along with her amazing crew put together this fabulous V.I.P Party located in Burbank's Magnolia Park! And this Chicana was ready!

It took all of me to not hand over everything in my wallet, if she would have wanted my pearl necklace, I would have taken it off right then and there just to have a Cherry or Red Velvet Lipstick! I immediately fell in love with every red shaded, vintage inspired lipstick they had! Each one formulated to duplicate vintage colors. According to Gabriela, her goal was to create a product that was not matte, but a lipstick that was true to the original Vintage lipsticks that had more of a satin finish. This is because lipsticks were made out of petroleum or castor oil (my favorite, that's a blog for another day). The lipsticks needed to have a semi-matte finish so to not leave your lips looking dry and flaky. The secret to her lipstick is in the beeswax, it's what gives the lipsticks texture!

Then I found their glamorous Black Cake Mascara! It makes your lashes and brows appear longer & darker and can be used as eyeliner for infamous cat eye look! The unique thing about cake mascara is it can be re-applied layer after layer! Without clumping! Brushes can be rinsed with water after each use, leaving no residue and leaving you looking like a Pin-Up Beauty! We all want this look!

Isn't Melinda the cutest Beauty Consultant?

I had the pleasure of learning all about Besame Cosmetics from Gabriela's daughter Melinda, or should I say future beauty guru of Besame Cosmetics! Yes, ladies this pretty little lady knows her make-up! Even at the tender age of 12, she can tell you all about the business! Melinda goes on and on on how to apply Besame's Cosmetic's powders to how all of their products are Vegan!

Melinda says, "You gotta try our Sweetbalm Lipgloss too! I'm not kidding you apply (fancy) Sweetbalm Lipgloss to your lips", it was like my lips came back to life! :) I was hooked!

Like my Blogger Friend, Marla from Marlita on the Run said
"It looks good on you & me"!

Marla should be Besame's Brand Ambassador, she wears Besame well!
And it will look good on you too! I promise, Chicana's honor! This Chola wouldn't lie to you!
No, not about Red Lipstick! Red was made for Latina's!

Little blurry, but still cute! Sorry it was a mad frenzy in Besame!

To keep within the Vintage theme, Besame's Cosmetics packaging is creatively inspired by the Art Deco decorative flower the "Chrysanthemum", also known as "Mums". This was a very classic vintage design motif. Speaking of classic, look at Besame's Vintage inspired hand bags!
Marla makes everything look so fabulous, doesn't she?

And don't forget your Crimson Creme Rouge! Stunning & timeless vintage tin case holds a concentrated cream that gives both your lips and cheeks a natural flush beautiful look!

I need some Crimson Rouge in my life! How cute is Gabriela!
Show and tell of how the Crimson Rouge works!

Definitely need this Cherry Hand bag too!

Cherry lining, dangling cherry charms and there are pockets for all
your Besame Lipstick & Rouge Compact too! This is no ordinary purse!

After a fun filled night of with the girls, networking with bloggers, fashionistas, business owners, etc. A couple of us bloggers found ourselves still chatting away after everyone was long gone! Swag bags in hand, we got an intimate one-on-one with the store owner, Gabriela Hernandez herself.

Gabriela not only founded Besame Cosmetics, but has also published her first book!

After asking Gabriela every question under the moon on how she picks her red shades of lipsticks to her favorite products! We talked about the behind the scenes of the business, and how her & Melinda will be traveling to Europe for a huge #Beauty Show! She also mentioned how every last Friday of the Month, Magnolia Park in Burbank has a Girls Night Out! Ding, ding, ding, ding...

Girls Night Out? So I couldn't help but put my business cap on and ask to collaborate with her to host an ilaments Jewelry Trunk show! It sounded so perfect. Vintage inspired jewelry, make-up, raffles, swag bags & more. So we picked a date and whoa...la!
